Nuremberg / Däniken, 31st May 2006 – LEONI AG (Nuremberg), the German manufacturer of cable and wiring systems acquires the Studer Draht- und Kabelwerke AG in Däniken at a price of approx. 105 million euros. With this takeover, the Swiss company gains access to the global distribution network of LEONI. The German company acquires ownership of Studer’s leading technology in the area of high-end cable systems. Due to this takeover, the 350 jobs in Däniken are effectively maintained. LEONI intends to expand the location in Däniken to a technology centre and holds on to the present organisational structure and the management.
STUDER CABLES is the first company to succeed in launching a solar cable on the market which has both TÜV approval for the European market and UL approval according to the latest NEC specifications (National Electric Code 2005/UL Outline 4703).
BETAflam® 125 flex Solar meets the highest requirements for solar cables in the most important photovoltaic markets of Europe and the USA and can be used unrestrictedly as a module or stranded cable.
CHEMAflex®: Oil and chemical resistant flexible connecting cable
Studer Cables extended its halogen free flame retardant BETAflam® flex assortment with the chemical resistant CHEMAflex®.
The characteristic of the BETAflam® CHEMAflex® line is the bilayer extruded outer sheath, which exhibits a substantially improved medium stability. The new product assortment (also with EMC shielding available) increases the quality of the BETAflam® characteristics with the chemical resistance such as halogen free, flame retardant and increased resistance to temperature.
With this novel solution we have generated significant interest in industry, particularly for conveying systems and production lines as well for the food industry.
